Exercise 5: Online Review Meeting

It took me a bit of time to get going but I can really see the benefits of being able to see what you are talking about and I am looking forward to trying it out.

The challenge will be finding some colleagues who I can use the tool with.

Exercise 4 - Chatting with colleagues

It seemed a bit entertaining using the IM tool, I did find it difficult to chat though in depth about the documents we looked at. I could see the benefits working with my colleagues who are based abroad.

Exercise 3 Using a workspace

Initially I was thinking that the workspace wasn't providing much more than a drive for files that you could get on your network.

What I found was that when we were putting comments on each others files I could see the point that we could build on each others work.

Exercise 2 : Using an Online Mind Map

I found it a little bit strange to start with. However what I found really interesting was the fact that we could all add ideas at the same time. Normally when brainstorming you can find that someone dominates the process. Also I am not always the most creative person and so it was useful to be able to take inspiration from other peoples ideas.

Exercise 1 What kind of projects am I collaborating on ? and with who

I am currently working with a group of colleagues to plan an event that is taking place in September we are getting our ideas together for this right now. This involves working with my manager and two of my collegues from marketing all based in the same office building. We use the phone a bit but basically we just meet when we need to in one of the meeting rooms.

I am also working on a project to re-engineer the processes of our entire organisation. This is a multi-disciplinary team with some of the colleagues being based at our offices in Poland

We tend to meet up once a month and we sometimes video conference if someone can't make it or have someone on speaker phoen. We regulalry e-mail documents round to each other.

Knowledge Based Economy

It amazes me the pace at which things are changing
